I got ID'd

Hahaha! Last night a group of us went to the casino for my mom's birthday. I walked in with my husband, and a bouncer came up to me and said, "ID, please." I was so startled! I just never expect that sort of thing anymore. Jak piped up, "Do you need mine, too?" The response was a quick look at him, then a shake of the head, "No, no, that's fine." Can you believe it? I got ID'd! Woo hoooooooooo!

I saw my TV interview!

This was the last day possible to catch the re-airing of MovieTelevision's segment on Plague City. It felt like a bit of a long shot, because I had been trying to catch as many of their shows since Tuesday as possible, but only to find they were all shows from ages ago. But we set up the vcr anyway, and good thing! It was the right show, and I got to see my very first tv interview! It was really exciting - I was a little nervous, curious to see how I came across. But it was just fine, and it was a great segment on the movie.

Someone saw my TV interview!

Yay! At least one person saw me being interviewed on MovieTelevision. Jak's dad sent us a message today that he (quite accidentally) saw it on the weekend. He said it was a nice segment, and I had a nice clip on it. I'm so glad someone we know saw it!

Missed my first TV interview

I can't believe it. We just found out that my first television interview aired on the weekend. And we missed it! It was a segment on Plague City, airing on MovieTelevision. It was my first TV interview I gave, too! I'll try to catch it later this week, when it re-airs, but I'm not sure when it does, or what channel.

Jon Slan called me!

Phone call!I missed a call on my cell, and when I checked my voicemail, it was Jon Slan, the executive producer for Plague City. He left a brief message asking me to call him back. I did, and wow, what a phone call! He called to tell me that the picture was locked, and there were just a couple sound things to go (including putting in "Angel" from Sara McLaughlin, for Rosie's funeral scene). And he just wanted to thank me for my work - he was very impressed with my performance, extremely happy with my work and the movie, totally impressed that this was just my first film, and he wrapped up the call by saying he hopes to work with me again. I was nearly in tears, from his sincerity and praise. And I SO hope to work with him again, too.

A Fabulous Night of Divas

Tonight was a fantastic night! The cabaret was a great success, filled with amazing singers. I feel so honoured to have been grouped with them. I sang two solos, "I Will Be Loved" and "The Same Girl". Then Laura and I rocked the house with our duets, "Stop, Time", "I Still Believe", "Single Man Drought", and "For Good". It was so fun getting dressed up and being a first time Diva!

I got a call!

Phone call! The phone rang, and I saw a Toronto number. I had no idea who it was, but answered it anyway. The voice at the other end shouted out, "Gung Hay Fat Choy!", to which I replied, "And Gung Hay Fat Choy to you!". After a brief moment of silence I said, "Who is this?" And to my surprise and extreme delight, it was David Wu, the director I worked with on Plague City. He was calling to let me know that he had finished cutting the film, and that everyone loves the movie: our executives love it, and CTV loves it! He said that everyone is going to be crying over Rosie's death. He was very excited about it, and just wanted to give me an update and see how things were going. How cool is that?!?! He said there's just a few sound editing things to do, then it will be finished, he'll send me a copy, and then it will air SOON. I am so excited that he took the time to call and say hello.
